you bloomed beautifully today, tree in front of the porch in school.
i like the way you flourished into a pink beauty, your pale flowers trickling down onto the pavement.
i like the way these flowers covered your feet, and around your feet.
i don't know why i've never noticed you, tree of breathtaking beauty.
last night, as i was walking to the car, the headlights of another shone at your feet.
i stood and stared in amazement and wonder at your flowers piled on the ground, illuminated by those bright eyes.
it was dark, and i couldn't see anything besides.
but i'll remember that sight.
today, i saw.
and i tried to take a picture. but my cameraphone won't do you any justice.
so i let it be.
i let you remain in all perfection in my mind.
tall, elegant, and a little sad.
i watched as another flower fell, so gently,
till it joined the rest, a collection of contented blooms--
glad that at least, they blossomed, once.
